Almost August

Well this summer seems to be passing me by. I spent most of last week holed up in a hotel conference room (yes, that includes the weekend) replanning the project we're working on. The outcome of this meeting (which remains to be decided) either means I'll be scary busy for the next couple months and traveling endlessly, or it means I'll be scary busy for the next year and traveling not quite so extensively for the moment.
Meanwhile, the cat is getting used to having me home again, and is showing a decided affection for catnip. I didn't realize it was addictive until I decided one week that he really didn't need anymore catnip, and after about 5 days he started leaping around the living room, jumping at shadows and teething. A little teaspoon of catnip and he was back to his old mellow sleepy self. I feel a little guilty about feeding his habit, but at the end of the day, it's not like he's going to end up in a crack house selling his body for his next fix....

Last Comic Standing

Okay, an old friend of mine from college has a chance to be voted back on to the final show of Last Comic Standing, so if you feel like it, you can vote for him here:

1. Click on http://www.nbc.com/Last_Comic_Standing/voting/
2. Scroll down, and pick Josh Wolf
3. Fill in your name and click Vote

And I promise to write more about me soon. Still recovering from my two day trip to Amsterdam, after which, surprise surprise, I was selected by US Customs for special screening. Remarkably, they didn't believe me that I'd only bought chocolate.

Nothing Much

I've been terribly remiss of late - it seems that now that I spend my days juggling incomprehensible spreadsheets, my patience for email and blogging is short. However, I've just had a lovely weekend with the family, and am now on my way to Amsterdam. Well, Nijmegen, but at least two of my friends have thought that was in Asia, so to ban any confusion, we'll just stick with the former. This trip will mark a record for me - longest flight for shorteset turnaround. I will arrive on Wednesday and be home by Saturday, and during that time I'll even manage a 5 hour visit with my brother. Thank goodness for Economy Plus is all I can say. I expect there will be no tulip pictures forthcoming this time, but one never knows.
