Celebrity Sighting

I saw Mick Fleetwood in Costco yesterday. For those of you who are too young to remember, that's the co-founder of Fleetwood Mac. Or as I explained it to my 11 year old niece. "You know the movie The School of Rock? The band that Joan Cusack likes? That's him". He's very tall, and exudes famosity.
Now before you all go trekking up to the Everett Costco in the hopes of seeing Mick Fleetwood, I should say that I'm in Maui, and he was promoting a line of wine from his vineyard (which is how I knew it was him). It was all very exciting nonetheless.
And meanwhile, it's 6 am (For me) and I'm wide awake, sitting on my balcony with my coffee watching the sunrise in a tank top and capris. How is that 65 here is SO much warmer than it is in my living room back home?
Pictures one of these days.

Cranberry Bean Muffins

Okay, I know it sounds weird. But these muffins are really good. See, I bought 25 lbs of pinto beans at Costco the other day, and then I came to realize that that is really a LOT of beans. So I visited the bean council website and found a recipe for Blueberry Bean Muffins.
I didn't have any blueberries, so I made Cranberry Muffins, and I left out the pecans, because I didn't have any of those. Also, when I soaked my beans, I put a little knot of fresh ginger in with the soaking water and some cinnamon and nutmeg. Oh, and in case anyone is doing weight watchers... one muffin is only 3 points if you leave out the nuts.
Anyway, long story short, they turned out beautifully. You'd never know there were beans involved if you hadn't seen the recipe.

December

Oh, I'm really letting things go here. The truth is, I have a soul destroying job that depresses me to write about, and most of last month I was stretching myself to drive to Bellevue twice a week for the highlight of the week, my A+ Certification class. There we tore apart computers (without having a friendly help desk person on the other end of the line), programmed in DOS, learned to count in binary and hex.. what fun was mine! As a side effect (I like to think of it as extra credit voluntary homework) I upgraded my video card (Age of Empires has never looked so good), changed my power supply, upgraded my memory and got an external hard drive. I repossessed my old 1997 era laptop, which maxes out at 96 MB of RAM and am trying to decide if it's worth keeping it just to practice in DOS...
So I had a busy little November, and now that it's December, I'm supposed to be studying for the certification exam. Just 500 pages more to read and a few hours of practice tests left to go.
However, Hawaii is in two weeks, so maybe I'll get some pictures up then.,.
